Summary
After staff reported that utilities at 825 Nelson Drive were inactive since 10/03/2024 and that heirs have not progressed on repairs, the Board of Building Standards found the property a public nuisance and ordered demolition or appeal to district court within 30 days.

The board accepted staff's recommendation and ordered the owner of 825 Nelson Drive to demolish the structure or appeal within 30 days.
Property maintenance inspector Ricky Wright told members the affidavit of condemnation had been filed and that the owner had died; heirs were notified but no alteration permit was applied for and inspectors saw no progress. "As of 05/13/2026, there's still no progress and no permit applied for," Wright said. The board voted to find the property a public nuisance and to issue an order requiring demolition or an appeal.
There was a brief exchange clarifying which family member was acting as point of contact; no one representing heirs spoke at the hearing. The order carries the standard 30-day appeal window.
