Dr. Miller said the payment reflects energy sold back to the grid from township solar panels and SREC sales: “We just received the check today, $120,596.31. And that is the excess generation from the solar power... it it's from May to May... So it's from May '25 to May '26.” He added the solar output offsets electric costs at the municipal service center (MSC) and that revenue from SRECs varies with market conditions. Manager Davis and Director Noel discussed arranging a fall presentation by Seth Berry, who worked on the solar project, to brief the full board on production, lease buyout options and payment terms.
No formal action was required at the meeting; staff indicated they will follow up with a scheduled presentation and additional financial detail for the board in the fall.
