Planning staff provided updates on plat submissions and announced an in-person training opportunity for planning commissioners and the board of zoning appeals.
Staff said plat materials were submitted for commissioner review and noted the July meeting had been canceled because of a storm; both June and July plat submissions are included in the review packet. Staff then announced an in-person training scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 17, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., which will count for two mandatory training hours, with an online option forthcoming for the remaining required hour.
"That's gonna count for 2 hours of your mandatory training," staff said, asking commissioners to attend if possible and noting the training will cover meeting basics, planning commission state law, recent decisions and ethics and will include an attorney to answer questions. Staff said additional in-person sessions may be available later in the year.
