She said staff received 42 applications from Districts 1–3 and a multi‑agency panel reviewed and interviewed top candidates. The recommended chair is Dana Jones.
Shreves read the recommended list of members that included district representatives, school‑association seats, sheriff's‑office liaisons and behavioral‑health and school‑safety professionals. A commissioner moved to appoint the applicants as presented, the motion was seconded and the board approved the appointments by voice vote.
Next steps: the newly appointed committee will convene and work on initial tasks identified by staff and the board.
