City Attorney Kalil presented the terms of a settlement for TBID litigation reached in mediation on March 30, 2026; the council voted to approve the settlement as presented at the April 6 meeting.
Kalil then read Ordinance No. 604 for its first reading, describing updates requested by the Public Safety Committee. He told the council he left unchanged the provision regarding emergency abatement entry into a home, explaining that recent court rulings indicate a court order is not required in true emergent situations and that the Nuisance Committee will meet and document findings of fact for such emergencies. The council approved Ordinance 604 on first reading.
