Kiko Nash, special projects manager for Community Resources, described the methodology — facility site visits, policy review, public feedback, and cost estimates — and the intent to prioritize high‑impact public facilities first. Brian, the consultant from Bureau Veritas, emphasized the cost estimate is at today’s prices and will rise over time: “The first point I wanna make out is that $18,000,000 is dollars at today's rate,” he said, noting inflation and changing standards could increase the amount over the plan’s timeline.
The board authorized the county administrator to accept the final ADA self‑assessment and transition plan once staff has made any modifications, with the expectation of annual reporting to the commissioners on progress and expenditures. Staff explained the county will use a tracking tool (AssetCalc) to monitor barrier removal and recommended budgeting a predictable annual allocation to address accessibility needs.
