The Planning Commission approved the final plat for Canal Heights Section 2 (FP2616), a 30.24‑acre planned residential section with 45 building lots, by a 4–0 vote.
Aaron Sorel said Section 1 of the development is already under construction and that the developer will dedicate some open space to the city to allow construction of perimeter trails. He also told the commission that right‑of‑way acquisition for the Chambersburg widening is complete and that construction bidding is under way. "Planning staff recommends approval of the final plat for Canal Heights Section 2 submitted on May 19," Sorel said. The commission moved and approved the plat; staff said they will sign the record plan after the meeting.
