Council authorizes contracts and design work for several public works projects

Huber Heights council moved forward on several infrastructure items at its June 8 session. Council authorized the city manager to contract for improvements to the Brant Pike sanitary lift station, a project that will combine two older lift stations into a single new facility near Brant Pike and the Walmart. The resolution authorizes the city to contract with the lowest and best bidder to complete construction work and associated underground piping.
The council also authorized use of a grant from the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission (MVRPC) to prepare engineering plans and specifications for a paved bike path along Chambersburg Road and Fishburg Road, and voted to solicit bids for the Rip Rap Road Wellfield Production Well No. 7 connection project (pump installation, meter/valve construction and connection to the water main). All measures were adopted unanimously and staff said they would follow up on contract details and bid documents.
