Stansbury Park district certifies 2025 trustee election; Desmond and Mansell top the count

The Stansbury Park Improvement District board on Nov. 18 certified the 2025 trustee election and approved a staff member to sign the county canvas on a trustee's behalf.
Marilyn read the Tooele County standardized Canvas Statistical Report and the local jurisdiction totals for the district, reporting turnout and ballot statistics. "Judy k Desmond, 954 votes; Brian l. Mansell, 935 votes; Neil f. Smart, 843 votes," she read, and then announced the two highest vote-getters as the elected trustees. The board also moved to authorize Jody Coffin to sign the county canvas on behalf of trustee Jake Clay.
Board members voted to approve the certified results; the winners will be sworn in and begin duties in January, the board said. The canvass reading included detailed mail and provisional ballot counts and noted a one-ballot discrepancy attributed to a primary ballot returned in a general-election envelope.
