Highway Commissioner Phil Hewitt told the board that paint truck operator positions require a four-person crew and technical skills, and that current staff have been reluctant to join the crew. The board approved a temporary $4.00 per hour premium for Paint Crew Operators from May 15 to November 1, 2023; the resolution states the premium will be reimbursed 100% by DOT and other entities that hire the county’s painting services, and projected levy impact is $0.
Supervisor Mitchell moved to adopt Resolution 2023-35; Supv Bringe seconded and the resolution was adopted by voice vote. County staff said reimbursed costs will cover the premium.
