Park plan includes parking, dog parks and DNR-funded pier replacements

During a June 24 briefing to the Barnwell County Council, Ardurra project manager Collin Filo described park amenities tied to the amphitheater project, including "two dog parks" and replacement of two fishing piers. He said the SC Department of Natural Resources is "very much in favor" of the pier replacement and indicated DNR would provide funding for that component, subject to county approval.
Mr. Filo also noted a portion of Lake Drive transferred to Barnwell County in 2024 will be closed and added to the park footprint, increasing usable park acreage. Council members asked for clarifications about which boundaries would be disturbed and which would remain untouched; Mr. Filo pointed to color-coded areas on the plans identifying work zones and protected areas. The council's motion to proceed included the condition that the noted edits be made prior to permitting.
