Tourism staff updated the board on marketing and events: the city council requested a project report for optional sponsored content on the tourism website. Staff said the program would exclude chain businesses and allow city staff to direct the company on which businesses to contact; tiered levels range from about $50 to $500 per month depending on content.
"We won't allow any chains to participate in the program," tourism staff said, adding that council will approve the arrangement and outreach will begin after council action. Staff also previewed Bonjour Denison, a French‑inspired market at Katy Plaza and Katy Depot scheduled the same day as the wine walk, with vendors solicited by Make Wild Markets.
Staff noted the website launch was delayed to early August while final backend items and photos were completed and said new marketing videos from AR Productions will be included on the site.
