Staff advised the board that the Texas Historical Commission Main Street site visit is planned as a three-hour session from 12 to 3 p.m. on an August date and encouraged board attendance for the accreditation review. "It's a 3 hour session...so it's from 12 to 3, on...August," staff said while describing the walk-through at 9 a.m., a lunch at 11, and a noon meeting for the evaluation.
Staff said the visit would review the program’s transformation strategies, work plans and long-term support from city council. Board members were asked to check calendars and let staff know which members could attend; staff noted that if a quorum might be present the meeting notice should be posted. The board discussed inviting the TIRS 3 board and other partners to participate, and staff agreed to check on invitees.
The visit will be used to evaluate whether the local Main Street program aligns with state expectations and to identify areas of support or improvement; staff said the session could educate board members on program priorities.
