Director reports staffing change, UDC work session and conference plans

Howard Jones, Hutto’s development services director, reported to the Planning & Zoning Commission July 7 that Planner Forrest Williams will be leaving the city and that his last day will be this Friday. "He is leaving the city. He is, his last day with the city will be actually this Friday," Jones said, and asked commissioners to circulate the planning manager job posting.
Jones reminded commissioners of a UDC rewrite work session scheduled for July 14 at 6 p.m. and asked that anyone experiencing trouble accessing the shared document notify staff. He encouraged commissioners who cannot access the online tracked document to submit a separate file so staff can merge comments. Jones also discussed conference opportunities, including the APA state conference Oct. 14–16 in Irving, and asked commissioners to indicate interest for budgeting purposes.
Commissioners discussed authentication issues with the document-sharing platform and conference attendance; the chair adjourned the meeting at 8:41 p.m.
