City seeks volunteers for boards and commissions; meet‑and‑greet set for Sept. 9

“We have 18 positions, with terms that expire September 30... To date, we have a total of 20 applications that have been received,” staff said, explaining that the number includes nine new applicants and 11 current members seeking reappointment. Staff proposed a meet‑and‑greet for new applicants at the Sept. 9 early work session (beginning at 5:30 p.m.) and formal council appointments on Sept. 23.
Staff also noted one vacancy on the Community Development Corporation created when a member moved out of the city. Council agreed to receive application packets and attendance reports to help guide appointments and to use individual meetings to streamline the process.
