Commissioner David Comai said he was concerned about the potential elimination of Civic Center availability for community events, noting the FAIR in particular had not been the subject of prior board discussion before the new concept was raised: "noted concern Civic Center elimination for FAIR with no Board discussion." The board did not take a formal vote or adopt a policy change on facility reuse during the special meeting; Hill's suggestion was offered as a recommendation for further review.
The comments occurred during public input at the start of a short special meeting that focused primarily on a separate personnel resolution for the Council on Aging. No staff plan, timeline, or funding source for building reuse or relocation was presented in the meeting record.
