County Administrator David Schaeffer told the Kalkaska County Finance Committee on Feb. 11 that he had provided the members with 2025 Budget Books and that the financial reports showed no budget amendments for the period under review. Schaeffer told the committee the 2025 Budget Books were distributed for committee review and planning.
Schaeffer also said the county has a pending resolution to create a part-time deputy treasurer clerk position to offset a part-time chief deputy role. He informed the committee that the county’s 2024 audit is scheduled to begin April 14, 2025, and is expected to take approximately four days. The meeting minutes record those items but do not show a formal vote or motion on the hiring resolution; the resolution was described as pending.
