The Renville County Board of Commissioners unanimously re-elected Andy Gates as board chairman and Jamee Hansen as vice-chair at the regular meeting on Dec. 2, 2025. The nominations were closed and a unanimous ballot was cast following a motion by Commissioner Rick Haman and a second by Commissioner Jamee Hansen.
Commissioners reviewed routine correspondence, approved the November payroll as presented, and approved the November 2025 minutes by unanimous vote. The auditor, acting as chair when nominations were called, presided over the organizational business.
The leadership votes were formal motions recorded in the minutes. "Moved by Comm. Haman, second by Comm. Hansen that nominations cease and that a unanimous ballot be cast for Comm. Gates as Board Chairman," the minutes state. The board followed the same procedure to cast a unanimous ballot for Comm. Hansen as vice-chair.
The board adjourned the Dec. 2 session at 12:45 p.m. and reconvened for a subsequent regular meeting on Dec. 16. No policy changes to the board's leadership structure were adopted at the Dec. 16 meeting; discussion about changing elected offices to appointed status was held but no final action taken.
