At the start of the Oct. 19 meeting, Couleecap Executive Director Hetti Brown presented the organization's annual report to the Vernon County Board and thanked the board "for its continued support." Brown described more than 20 programs that assist Vernon County residents and singled out a new program aimed at reducing household electricity burdens.
Brown said Couleecap has partnered with Vernon Electric Coop to help develop the region’s first community solar garden and highlighted the agency’s recycling and other assistance programs. The presentation was placed on the agenda and delivered before the extensive landfill discussion and public comment period.
