The Ionia County Board of Commissioners selected County Commissioner Terence Frewen as Temporary Chair after Chairman Jack Shattuck was absent from the April 8, 2025, meeting. Deputy County Clerk Stephanie Herbstreith called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m., and the board approved the temporary-chair appointment following a motion from Commissioner David Hodges and support from Commissioner Scott Wirtz.
The motion to appoint Frewen carried by roll-call vote with Commissioners Phil Hesche, Scott Wirtz, Gordon Kelley, David Hodges and Temporary Chair Terence Frewen recorded as voting yes and no recorded votes. The board then proceeded to the Pledge of Allegiance and invocation and moved through the published agenda.
