The board approved out-of-state travel for a volunteer 4-H judge, authorizing travel for Gary Martens to national judging events in Manhattan, Kansas (Oct. 21–23, 2025) and Brookings, South Dakota (Oct. 12–13, 2025). Auditor Stephanie A. Pappa noted the county vehicle insurance would cover the suburban because Martens is a registered volunteer.
The board also adopted minimum appraisal prices for properties to be offered at the county’s tax-deed sale on Nov. 18, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. The motion to adopt minimum appraisal prices and the travel approval were both recorded as unanimous votes during the Oct. 7 meeting.
