County holds preliminary 2026 budget hearing; approves Upper Missouri District Health Unit budget and $1,000 donation to Vision West ND

Chairman Trudy Ruland opened the county’s 2026 Preliminary Budget Hearing at 10:40 A.M. on Sept. 16; Quentin Stevick, Elaine Vachal and Doug Kinnoin attended. The board reviewed the county budgets for 2026. In a separate but related action recorded earlier in the meeting, the commissioners, in conjunction with Divide, McKenzie and Williams counties, approved the Upper Missouri District Health Unit’s 2026 budget.
At noon the board approved donating $1,000 to Vision West ND to assist costs associated with the Oct. 29, 2025 Natural Resource Stewardship Workshop. The motion to donate was moved by Commissioner John DeGroot, seconded by Commissioner Jason Rice, and carried unanimously.
