On Jan. 26 the Vernon County Board authorized submission of an application for Wisconsin Assessment Monies (WAM) Contractor Services to support environmental assessment work at 602 N. Main Street in Viroqua. The resolution provides the County Administrator authority to submit the application, sign documents and take necessary actions to comply with award activities under the WAM Contractor Services program.
Supervisor Stanek moved adoption and Supervisor Muller seconded. The Board amended the resolution to identify the Infrastructure Committee as the submitting committee before adopting it on a unanimous voice vote. Administrator Redington said this item follows action the Board took in December and that the county will allow Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources staff access to inspect the award site and award records if services are approved.
The WAM program is designed to support environmental assessment and brownfields remediation planning; the resolution instructs county staff to comply with state and federal rules applicable to any award.
