Board approves up to $50,000 in ARPA funds for 2024–2029 economic development plan

The Vernon County Board on June 20 approved Resolution 2023-42, authorizing the county to contract with Place Dynamics and the Mississippi River Regional Planning Commission (MRRPC) to develop a 2024–2029 Economic Development Strategic Plan at a cost not to exceed $50,000.
Supervisor Kay Stanek, chair of the Economic Development Committee, explained the existing plan was drafted about six years ago and the update will strengthen communities’ ability to pursue grants and align local priorities. The resolution specifies up to $50,000 of the county’s ARPA funds will pay for the plan.
