Vernon County board extends environmental contingency for Northpointe purchase to Sept. 1

The Vernon County Board of Supervisors on June 20 adopted Resolution 2023-41 to amend Addendum A of the county’s purchase agreement with Northpointe, extending Contingency D — the deadline for Phase I (and if necessary Phase II) environmental and geotechnical reports — to September 1, 2023.
Supervisor Rod Ofte, speaking for the Infrastructure Committee, presented the resolution and Supervisor Lorn Goede called the question before the voice vote. The motion passed with all present voting in favor. The resolution’s text specifies the buyer must deem the reports satisfactory by the new date or the offer becomes null and void. Board members said the extension is an unexpected delay but “should not affect the closing.”
