Tyson Jackson, representing SCA, briefed Barnwell County Council on June 9 about progress on the SCAT park and regional economic development. Jackson said the sewer line from the town to the SCAT park is nearing completion and that grant funding—"roughly $1.9M"—was used to widen and repave Technology Drive, the main road into the park. He said approximately 300 acres near the airport are under review for potential industrial development.
Council members asked about road condition, timeline and next steps. Jackson said bids had completed and the road project should start soon. Councilman Kenner asked to be kept informed on park progress; Chairman Houston and Councilman Alexander thanked SCA staff for the work and cooperation.
