Superintendent reports Safety City success, AP scores and summer-school dates
Summary
The board heard the Superintendent’s Report noting a successful Safety City program for about 30 children, AP exam successes, summer school July 21–Aug 14, pool repairs and a $100 donation from Kelli Tuller to the Summer Engagement Program.
During the Superintendent’s Report at the July 9 meeting, the board recorded several program updates: a successful Safety City program that served approximately 30 children and covered topics including stranger danger, 911 use, water safety (at the Francis Family YMCA), bike safety, fire safety and bus safety. Deputy Rollins was noted as planning next year’s sessions.
The report highlighted academic achievements: several AP Chemistry students scored 3 or higher on the AP exam and one student scored a 5 on the AP Biology exam without taking the AP Biology course. The board also noted that summer school will run July 21 through August 14 and that a $100 cash donation to the Summer Engagement Program was received from Kelli Tuller.
Operational updates recorded in the minutes included a repaired pool filter and painting performed by Leidel on paneling opposite the high school cafeteria. The minutes list these items under the Superintendent’s Report but do not attribute the report to a named presenter in the public record.
