During the public comment period DeAnna Hardy of Brigham City told commissioners she and the Box Elder Committee oppose the county fair in its current form and urged the Commission to charge the Box Elder School District a fee for its use of the fairgrounds. "The Box Elder Committee opposes the County Fair. It forces others to pay for others' entertainment," she said, arguing the fair's role has shifted from promoting agriculture to broader entertainment that not all taxpayers support.
Hardy also said the committee believes the school district should not be granted a fee waiver for fairgrounds use, and she linked objections to broader concerns about property‑tax burdens and decisions by the school district. The Commission reviewed the public comment as provided; no action was taken on the speaker's requests during the March 11 meeting.
