Board approves Kaliseum leases and event contracts, waives referral for pro‑wrestling lease

The Kalkaska County Board of Commissioners approved several Kaliseum and parks items and authorized Chair Fisher to sign multiple facility agreements. The board voted to waive Article 5, Section M of its bylaws to permit immediate review and approval of a Mr. Chainsaw Pro Wrestling, LLC lease for the Kaliseum, and then approved the lease as presented.
Other DPW and Parks approvals included carpet cleaning for Health Department/Dispatch and DHHS buildings ($1,717.40) and for Administration and Court buildings ($3,368.20), authorization to advertise an RFP for roof replacement for the DHD#10/Dispatch Building, extension of a Yoga Instructor contract through June 30, 2025, and approvals of the Trout Festival and 4‑H Spring Soccer agreements. Commissioner Baldwin raised concerns about the Kaliseum multi-use floor and said Spence Brothers were attempting to communicate with Tim LaForest; Commissioner Sieting said he would follow up.
