Southside board approves TBIP plan and routine payroll, accounts-payable items

The Southside School District Board of Directors approved the district Transitional Bilingual Instructional Program (TBIP) Plan during its Nov. 19 meeting and also adopted routine consent items including payroll and accounts-payable warrants.
The motion to approve the TBIP Plan was moved by Ginny Brush and seconded by Don Robbins; the minutes record the motion as carried unanimously. The meeting also approved the Oct. 22, 2024 regular-meeting minutes and November 2024 payroll and accounts-payable items. Documented figures in the minutes included a payroll/direct-deposit and warrants total of $145,281.94, additional payroll/accounts-payable warrant ranges totaling $188,000.86 and $87,284.60, General Fund accounts payable of $106,847.01, a Capital Projects warrant of $22,500.00, and ASB warrants totaling $1,977.85.
Superintendent Paul Wieneke listed the TBIP grant among recent/upcoming items on the district agenda; the minutes separately list a Transitional Bilingual grant amount of $13,984. The board took no recorded amendment to the TBIP Plan in open session. The minutes do not specify further program allocations or line-item spending for TBIP funds beyond the board’s approval of the plan.
