Mountrail County to pursue 50/50 cost-share study with MWEC on CR4 transmission line

Mountrail County Commissioners voted on Nov. 18 to move forward with a collaborative, 50/50 cost-share exploration with Mountrail Williams Electric Cooperative to evaluate solutions for the CR4 transmission-line corridor. Road & Bridge Engineer Jana Hennessy told the board the subcommittee presented three options earlier in the process: no construction, litigation, or collaboration with MWEC; the board selected collaboration and authorized use of HDR Engineering estimates for further analysis.
The motion to pursue the collaboration and cost-share study passed unanimously. Commissioner Joan Hollekim made the motion and Commissioner John DeGroot seconded. The board directed the Road & Bridge subcommittee to continue engineering analysis considering feasibility, cost, timing and right-of-way constraints and to return with recommendations.
