Mountrail County votes to terminate Tyler Technologies timekeeping contract, move to Kronos

Mountrail County Auditor Stephanie A. Pappa told the Board on Nov. 4 that the county’s Time & Attendance module from Tyler Technologies was not calculating overtime correctly for the county’s 28‑day pay period and employee remote phone access to timeclocks was not functioning. She recommended canceling the module contract and requesting a full refund.
Commissioner Jason Rice moved to terminate the Tyler Technologies contract immediately and to contract with Kronos for timekeeping; Commissioner Wayne Olson seconded. The motion passed on a 4‑0 roll call vote (Ruland, Hollekim, Rice and Olson voting yes). The board directed staff to pursue refund paperwork with Tyler and to begin contracting for Kronos implementation.
