At the March 27 meeting Logan Solomon told Commissioners that a new State provision requires municipalities to allow four or fewer dwellings where municipal sewer and water serve an area. Solomon outlined three implementation options for Pittsford: add clarifying verbiage to the Section 300 table of uses, create three categories in the table, or refine the zoning map to identify service areas.
Commissioners pressed on technical details that will affect how the rule functions locally. Rick Conway asked whether a one‑acre threshold applies and how many additional residents a change could allow; Solomon said he would verify the State definition of "served." Ann Reed said the town tracks monthly sewer capacity and would provide numbers requested by commissioners before further draft language is developed.
