The Box Elder County Commission adopted Ordinance #647 on March 25 to rezone a roughly 10-acre parcel at 9310 N 6000 W in the Elwood area from unzoned to RR-2 (Rural Residential, 2-acre minimum).
Community Development Director Scott Lyons told the Commission the surrounding area is rural residential and agricultural; the Planning Commission reviewed the request on March 19, 2026 and forwarded a recommendation for approval, noting that zoning the parcel is preferable to leaving it unzoned. Commissioner Bingham moved to approve Ordinance #647; Commissioner Perry seconded the motion and it passed unanimously on roll call.
