Commission approves purchases of loader, tractor and three mowers
Summary

Road & Bridge staff presented equipment quotes and recommended the county purchase a John Deere loader under a five-year buyback program, citing a roughly $100,000 difference in buyback value between vendors and a close upfront price. "If the intent is to roll every five, then the buyback is way better," one commissioner said during discussion.
The commission moved, seconded and unanimously approved the separate motions: to buy the John Deere loader, to purchase the available like-for-like tractor (immediate delivery), and to acquire three new mowers and flex hitches for district use. Staff noted one tractor on the lot could be delivered immediately and that trade-in allowances would improve net costs. Commissioners asked staff to bring separate motions for each procurement, which they did and which passed by voice vote.
The approvals authorize staff to finalize purchase contracts and arrange trade-ins per the terms presented to the commission.
