Intermountain announces $5.3M capital grant for Bear River Valley Hospital expansion

A representative for Bear River Valley Hospital told the Box Elder County Commission that Intermountain Healthcare has granted $5,300,000 toward a capital project to expand services at the hospital.
The presenter said Bear River Valley has 158 caregivers, 14 licensed beds and delivered 105 babies in 2024. He told commissioners the hospital provided roughly $1 million in charity care in 2023 and that Intermountain is contributing a $5.3 million capital project that will add two GI suites and create dedicated clinics for IV therapy and wound care.
"Intermountain just granted Bear River Valley a $5,300,000 capital project," the presenter said, adding that the hospital saved about $1,000,000 over the past three years to contribute to the expansion. Commissioners thanked the presenter and had no further questions.
