Commission backs grants, outreach and heat-pump workshops to reduce heating emissions

In the thermal section of the draft enhanced energy plan the Pittsford Planning Commission retained actions to pursue grants for weatherization, renewables and heat-pump incentives, and to run an annual outreach campaign that includes one training session, one mailing and two local articles. Commissioners also kept an action to host one annual workshop on heat pumps and renewable technologies.
The Commission directed staff to engage BROC and Efficiency Vermont to help facilitate public education and outreach related to energy conservation and building efficiency. Members removed additional draft actions in this subsection to keep the approach simpler and more targeted.
