Commission keeps municipal efficiency actions — assessments, weatherization, EVs and battery equipment considered

During its Oct. 24 meeting the Pittsford Planning Commission kept a set of municipal leadership actions in the draft enhanced energy plan, including participation in the MERP program for building energy assessments and funding implementation of assessment recommendations. Commissioners specifically retained weatherization actions for the police station, town hall, fire/water district and wastewater treatment plant.
The Commission also asked staff to investigate electric-vehicle options for municipal and police vehicles and to convert town lawncare equipment to battery-operated models "as soon as feasible." Members noted the Town Manager had secured funding for an EV charger at the Village Farm as an example of near-term municipal action.
