At the July 6 meeting the Town Council addressed several appointments and procedural matters. The Council President announced he would take over representation to the Northwest Indiana Regional Planning Commission (NIRPC), replacing Councilor Tom Black. Councilor Scheeringa moved to appoint Councilor George Georgeff to the Traffic Safety Commission; Councilor Turich seconded and the motion passed on roll call with four affirmatives and one abstention (Councilor Black).
The Council also ratified the calling of special meetings held that evening pursuant to the Highland Municipal Code; the ratification passed 5‑0.
