Pittsford planning commission narrows draft enhanced energy plan, requires one action per policy

The Pittsford Planning Commission on Oct. 24 reviewed a draft enhanced energy plan from RRPC energy planner Jeremy Gildrien and instructed staff to return a revised draft incorporating the Commission’s edits. Chair Kevin Blow called the meeting to order at 7:01 PM and the Commission agreed that every policy in the draft must include a minimum of one concrete action before the plan advances to a public hearing and the Select Board.

Commission members worked section by section through universal, land-use, municipal leadership, thermal, transportation and electric policy groups, removing most of the draft’s additional suggested actions and keeping a single prioritized action for each policy. Rick Conway summarized the Commission’s role as creating and approving an energy plan to submit to the Select Board, and members asked that their edits be sent back to Mr. Gildrien for a new draft to be discussed at the January meeting. The Commission noted that, if the draft is approved with only minor amendments, it will proceed to a required public hearing and then to the Select Board for final action.
