Supervisor Long raised questions about the township's existing camera systems; Sergeant Tessmer explained that some recently purchased used equipment is failing and that a new, integrated camera system would better interface with current software. Tessmer also noted that the camera package identified in the vehicle quote is part of a recently applied-for LSA grant. "They typically only last 3-5 years," Tessmer said of patrol vehicles, arguing for equipment that will integrate and be reliable across the fleet.
The board moved to approve the Tristar Ford purchase and Valero upfit; the motion by Supervisor Hilliard, seconded by Supervisor Tardivo, passed unanimously among those present. Supervisors discussed funding constraints and financing but reserved detailed financing decisions to a separate motion later in the meeting. The board did not receive any public comment on the police vehicle purchase at the meeting.
