Council hears DPW, volunteer fire and recreation reports; summer camp drew ~200 daily

Council President McGlynn reported on seasonal public-works maintenance and thanked the volunteer fire department for parade and fireworks coverage; he said the volunteer fire department responded to 36 calls over the past month and brought a recent Walgreens Plaza fire under control "without any major damage."
Recreation reported a strong turnout for the parade and that the summer camp is ending with roughly 200 participants per day. Recreation Director Tony will lead an open meeting with coaches to review the season and plan for next year. "There were 200, participants in the camp each day," the recreation report said during the meeting.
