Southgate to advertise Blossom Ln./Valley View street project bid; building repairs and sign discussed

Council Member Melville reported that Public Works has completed leaf pickup and removal of holiday décor and that the Blossom Lane/Valley View street project bid request will be advertised on Jan. 22. Council members discussed quotes for a James Callahan Hall sign at the community center.
Council Member Whitehead said he inspected a railing by the city building's back door and will coordinate with Public Works Foreman Bowman on repairs. Whitehead also said he discussed the police department entryway with Police Chief Christmann and that the entryway work will be included in the 2026–27 budget. Separately, Council Member Melville said the Public Works Laborer position will be advertised in February.
