Committee approves Extension MOU; Extension highlights AI training and Nicolet collaboration

Area 4 Extension Director Amber Rehberg presented an overview of Extension services in Oneida County and asked the Committee to approve a Memorandum of Understanding with UW‑Madison Division of Extension. Chair Robb Jensen signed the MOU on the Committee's behalf after a motion by Jensen/Newman to approve the document carried with unanimous support.
Rehberg said Extension has hired a new artificial intelligence specialist and has offered workshops for local officials on practical AI uses and data privacy risks. She emphasized the importance of secure platforms for sensitive work and noted Extension can provide templates and resources to help counties develop AI policies. Rehberg also described collaboration with Nicolet College (via Innovation Partner Jill Kuczmarski) to explore joint youth programming and shared use of maker‑space resources such as 3D printers.
