CUW Committee elects Collette Sorgel as vice‑chair, names regional representatives

At the May 11 meeting, committee members moved and carried nominations to fill leadership and external‑representative roles. Collette Sorgel was nominated and confirmed by unanimous ballot as CUW Committee Vice‑Chair. The Committee also appointed Linnaea Newman as the North Central Land & Water Conservation Association (NCLWCA) representative with Robb Jensen as alternate.
The Committee discussed the Lumberjack Resource Conservation & Development (RC&D) group, which meets quarterly and administers a small matching grant program for conservation projects. Collette Sorgel was appointed as Lumberjack RC&D representative with Robb Jensen as backup. Several motions were recorded as “all ayes; motion carried.” The Committee also voted to forward recommendations for Lake District appointments to the County Board Chair for consideration.
