Cass County receives speed‑study updates for CSAH 70, CSAH 4 and CR 168; signage to be updated

County Engineer Darrick Anderson presented speed studies and recommended speed‑limit changes for several county roads.
For CSAH 70 (from CSAH 77 to Pike Bay Road and extended into Crow Wing County), the study recommends 55 mph at both ends with a 50‑mph zone between two new roundabouts; the City of East Gull Lake reported no concerns. CSAH 4’s first formal study establishes variable limits: 30 mph near Spruce Street to TH 200, 45 mph from near Park Avenue NE to Spruce Street, and statutory 55 mph on remaining sections. A 2024 study update for CR 168 sets 55 mph from 17th Ave SW east for ~1,850 feet, then 45 mph through a developed corridor to Loon Lake public access, then 55 mph to the Crow Wing County line. The Board received and filed the studies; signage updates will follow.
