Town Council vote moves comprehensive plan update forward; joint kickoff with Planning Commission planned

Town staff told the Planning Commission on Feb. 2 that the Town Council has voted to move forward with an update of New Market's comprehensive plan. The update will be run with consultant EPR and the Planning Commission will hold a joint meeting with the Town Council at the next regular commission meeting to begin the project.
Mrs. Medina said staff and the consultant will use the joint meeting to kick off the comprehensive plan project. Commission members discussed that the plan process presents opportunities to consider townwide issues raised during the meeting, including parking and other infrastructure needs. No formal action was taken beyond announcing the council's vote to proceed.
