Town staff asked the council to reclassify a vacant public works crew leader position to an office coordinator role to maintain administrative continuity as an existing staff member transitions into the newly created engineering department. Staff said the change carries no direct fiscal impact and requested that council move the ordinance forward this year rather than wait for a December staffing study.
"The office coordinator position will remain within the same pay grade class current budget," staff said, adding that acting now will allow overlap and training when the employee moves to the engineering department. Councilmembers expressed support, and consensus was recorded to advance Ordinance 26-16 to formal legislation.
