Logan County hears update on 5-year CIRB road plan; Prairie Grove project to be added

Allison Enright, manager for County Engineering District (CED) #5, presented Logan County’s five-year CIRB (County Improvement for Roads and Bridges) project plan at the April 6 commission meeting.
Enright identified several projects on the list, including JP #3608104 (a bridge over Beaver Creek in District 3) and JP #3609504 (a bridge over BNSF on Simmons in District 1). She said JP #3372204, a bridge over an unnamed creek in District 2, has been pushed to 2050 because completion depends on an agreement with the Iowa Tribe. Enright also said JP #3397804 (Waterloo Road) has been cancelled; a BUILD grant application has been filed that, if approved, would complete that project.
Commissioner Mark Sharpton asked to add a project on Prairie Grove over Cottonwood Creek. Enright agreed to add the project to the plan but said it would not be scoped until October. Enright emphasized that project completions are contingent on CIRB funding.
No formal board action was taken on the CIRB plan at the meeting to allow staff to add the Prairie Grove project before finalizing the plan.
