Hanover County EDA approves minutes, conducts closed session and certifies FOIA compliance

The Hanover County Economic Development Authority unanimously approved the minutes from its Jan. 14, 2026 meeting and moved into a closed session to discuss real property matters. Chairman Trey Hayden moved “for adoption of Resolution 2026-01, the Economic Development Authority of the County of Hanover, Virginia convene a closed meeting pursuant to Virginia Code 2.2-3711(A)” and the motion passed after Ms. Rafferty seconded it.
After the closed meeting, the board reconvened and Chairman Hayden moved to adopt Resolution 2026-02 certifying under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act that only matters identified in the closed-session motion were discussed; the motion passed unanimously. The board later voted to provide support and collaboration to the Board of Supervisors on ongoing matters, a motion moved by Mr. Kieper and seconded by Ms. Carlisle.
